I help people from various cultural backgrounds who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, angry or irritable and who have a hard time trusting themselves, identifying their needs, and expressing their boundaries. This may manifest as indecisiveness, anxiety, relational difficulties, a sense of feeling drained and over extended, a lack of contentment, or shutdown. You may feel compelled to achieve or people please in order to feel a sense of self-worth and safety. You have an inclination that continuing on like this is not sustainable, and that you want more out of life.

I use my knowledge and experience to tailor an approach to therapy based on your specific and unique life story, strengths and goals. Collaboration, compassion, a non-judgemental stance and cultural sensitivity are all cornerstones of how I do therapy. I appreciate the mind-body connection and use a biopsychosocial approach. If you are having trouble managing your emotions and maintaining healthy relationships, or moving on from a past experience, then I want to offer you some extra support. The past years have been especially taxing for all of us, leaving many of us feeling stalled in our previous trajectories, and perhaps struggling to navigate the financial, emotional, and mental challenges that have emerged. This can make it feel like reaching your potential is less achievable. I use a culturally sensitive, collaborative, and client-centered approach to therapy that seeks to establish an environment of stability, trust, safety, and non-judgement.

My focus will be to assist you in nurturing your strengths so that you are better able to take charge of the areas of your life that feel challenging. Alongside skills-building, there will be a space to identify your blind spots, or areas of growth. Everyone’s path to realizing their potential is unique to them, so your therapy journey will be unique too.

While no one questions a physical ailment that is addressed when it persists to cause injury, mental health challenges that are similarly debilitating, are less often prioritized, and addressed in primary care. Many may suppress and hide their struggle to function. The only way out is through.

Therapy can be hard! And awkward. And vulnerable. It’s crucial that you feel seen, safe, and respected by your therapist and I’m here to bring in some levity and play to help us do the hard work. It’s important to me that you feel like an active participant and collaborator in the therapy process. Human beings are made up of all types of different stories; stories we tell others, stories we tell ourselves, some stories that are handed to us by the world without any of our say at all! Together, we can explore and learn more about the stories that make up your life and maybe write new ones!

I want to build an authentic relationship on transparency, humour, compassion and curiosity. We’ll look at your goals, make space for difficult emotions, and explore different strategies to help bring you to a place that feels more in line with you – at whatever pace is right for you.

I have experience working with post-secondary students, teenagers, and adults. I’m experienced working with survivors of sexual violence, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-worth, diet culture, and other various mental health concerns. Wherever you are in your healing or hurting, I’d be honoured to meet you. Reach out for a free consultation today!
